FLORHAM PARK, N.J. Braylon Edwards didn't have much to say Wednesday about his pending legal situation.
Speaking with reporters for the first time since misdemeanor assault charges were filed against him in Cleveland on Monday, the Jets receiver said he's leaving the matter in the hands of his attorneys.
Edwards allegedly punched LeBron James' friend and club promoter Edwards Givens outside a Cleveland night club in the early hours of Oct. 5. If convicted, Edwards could face six months in jail and a $1,000 fine. His arraignment is scheduled for Nov. 17.
"I have lawyers for that, and that's their job to take care of that," Edwards said. " . . . It'll be handled the proper way and whenever it's handled, it's handled. Right now, I'm focusing on football. That's what I'm here to do. Those people can take care of that and I can focus on helping this team out."
Asked if he's concerned he could face a suspension from the league, he said: "I'm not worried about anything. I'm just focusing on the game plan, the Miami Dolphins and whatever happens, happens. There's nothing I can do. All I can do is let my lawyers work the situation."
TICKETS ANYONE?
The Jets announced they have lowered ticket prices between 20 to 50 percent on Mezzanine Club seats for the New Meadowlands Stadium and will begin selling season tickets to the general public on Sunday for their inaugural season in the $1.4 billion stadium. PSL prices, however, haven't been lowered.
Those who follow the Jets on Facebook will be able to purchase tickets Friday in a special one-day pre-sale.
COTCHERY: I'LL PLAY
After missing the last two games with a hamstring injury, receiver Jerricho Cotchery said he plans to play Sunday. "I'm ready to go," he said. "It's not anything where I'm trying to take baby steps. I feel good right now."
