PIERCE COUNTY—
Next time you see a K-9 dog, it's probably been trained by him.Deputy Munson has trained all of Pierce County's current working dogs as well as K-9's from Jefferson, Cowlitz, Whatcom, Thurston and Okanogan Counties.
He has also certified K-9 teams from the cities of Longview, Auburn, Kent, Renton, Tumwater and Tukwila as well as the United States Forest Service.
In 2008, Deputy Munson was elected as the president of the Washington State Police K-9 Association, and is recognized as a national leader in police K-9 training and has consulted with cities throughout the country who are starting K-9 programs.
Deputy Munson and his current K-9 partner Fox have worked together for the past five years.
