This All Star is celebrated for his outstanding bravery. Sergeant Nick Hausner has been with the Pierce County Sheriff's Department for 21 year, he works with the Mountain Detachment.
On December 21st of last year, Sergeant Hausner and his partner Deputy Kent Mundell responded to a domestic violence call in Eatonvill.
When they arrived on the scene, both Hausner and Mundell came under fire and were shot.
Sgt. Hausner acted courageously when he called for backup and medical assistance after being shot in the face.
Tragically, Deputy Mundell died from his injuries a week later.
For his selfless acts, Sgt. Hausner received the Medal of Valor.
