Lynnwood police K9 handler Cole Langdon and his dog "buddy" are being honored as our latest Officer Of The Month, because of their outstanding work at catching bad guys and protecting the public....
"Buddy" is cross-trained for both patrol and drug detection. Primarily though, they help track down suspects - almost 60 searches so far this year alone.
Ofc. Langdon, who's been with Lynnwood police for 12 years also serves as a Master Trainer with the Washington State Police Canine Association, working with law enforcement from all over the state to help certify their K9 teams so they can protect their communities. Catching fugitives in Lynnwood is their main job though, and his supervisor, Sgt. David Byrd says he and "Buddy" are really good at it.
Ofc. Langdon was also just given the "Top Cop" award from the Washington State Veterans of Foreign Wars, and is the recipient of the 2009 Chief's Award.
So, congratulations to Lynnwood police K9 handler Ofc. Cole Langdon and his partner "Buddy" for their great work, and for being our Washington's Most Wanted Officer of the Month.
